Radiologist John F. Carroll, M.D., Joins Radsource

Brentwood, TN " April 9, 2007 " Radsource is pleased to announce the addition of its 11th radiologist, John F. Carroll, M.D. "Dr. Carroll is an exceptional radiologist", noted Radsource President Mark Awh, M.D. "As is typical within our practice, Dr. Carroll has a background that combines excellent training and valuable clinical experience. In our evaluations, we found that Dr. Carroll is quite highly regarded by his colleagues and referring physicians, including orthopaedic physicians for several professional sports teams. Since completing his training, Dr. Carroll has focused exclusively on musculoskeletal radiology, and Radsource's subspecialized approach to MRI interpretation will allow him to further emphasize his passion for musculoskeletal MRI." John F. Carroll obtained his bachelor's degree from Temple University, where he received a full academic scholarship as well as scholarship awards from the Anna Vincent Society and the Philadelphia Daily News. He remained at Temple for his Medical School training, and then completed an Internal Medicine internship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Carroll also performed his Diagnostic Radiology training at Cleveland Clinic, where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the esteemed Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, at the Walter Reed Medical Center.

Following his training, Dr. Carroll accepted a position as Director of Musculoskeletal Radiology at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, a position he has held for three years. During this time, he has developed a large following among referring physicians who demand his expertise, including the team physicians for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association and the Washington Capitols of the National Hockey League. Dr. Carroll is highly respected as an educator, having contributed numerous articles, exhibits, and presentations to the field of musculoskeletal imaging.
