PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) and Digital Imaging
Radsource has invested substantially in its PACS and report distribution technology, and now you can access the same high performance, rapid and secure infrastructure for your imaging needs. As part of its routine interpretive services, Radsource installs at no additional charge a PACS server at each client's office. This server provides web-based order-entry, eliminating the need for faxed paperwork. Real-time monitoring of patient studies by Radsource radiologists is enabled, as well as surveillance and troubleshooting for network or data errors.

Many clients choose to further leverage Radsource's technology resources through our optional viewing and archival service. For an economical per study charge, the following services are provided:

  • Group software license which enables installation of a full-featured diagnostic workstation on any suitable PC on the client's network. With appropriate network configurations, viewing is also enabled at physician's homes or affiliated offices
  • A diagnostic viewer which is the same viewer used by Radsource radiologists, providing highly efficient study viewing with numerous features including easy formatting, reference lines, and customization of layout according to each individual user login
  • Multiple imaging studies can be opened at once on any given PC. When a physician is ready, he or she can simply click on the appropriate study for that patient and begin rapidly reviewing the case
  • Integration of Radsource interpretations with the viewer. Preliminary audio files of the radiologist's dictations are available within each case as soon as they are dictated. When the radiologist approves the written report, that written report replaces the audio file and is then embedded within the viewer
  • A CD creator which burns a smaller version of the same viewer on the disc, providing an easy transition to "portable studies"
  • Paper printing capabilities which provide high quality images on routine office printers. Many physicians use these paper prints for their operating room images, and/or to provide images to patients for education or surgical planning
  • Triple redundant storage of all MR data. The PACS server at the client's location provides near term storage, but all data are simultaneously routed to Radsource's data center, where mirrored storage is provided in a bunkered facility that includes extensive power and network back-ups. The final level of storage is on digital tape, which is stored at a third location for disaster recovery purposes. Obviously, this level of storage eliminates any need for the client to maintain its own data storage
  • Extensive IT assistance to the client during installation and configuration to ensure a reliable and robust implementation
  • All-inclusive service including the necessary training as well as all costs associated with maintenance, upgrades and ongoing support
In some cases, the breadth and scale of a filmless transition requires a stand-alone product to achieve your desired goals. If our analysis concludes that your workflow requires a dedicated solution, Radsource will work with you to select, configure, and acquire the products you need to do the job. The analysis includes everything from the image acquisition device to the end-user viewing platform. PACS and digital imaging are at the heart of what we do, and now you can leverage our experience to help you make the right decisions to accomplish your mission critical imaging goals.
